Join our Ray Mears qualified wilderness guides in a foraging session in the lanes of St. Martin for a morning of fascination, folklore, history and heritage, whilst collecting your lunch at the same time. Foraging skills are diminishing and becoming lost skills. Our qualified guides will introduce you to a mass of hedgerow foods with sessions finishing in a cook up of the seasonal bounty. More Information
Bush craft is the popular term for a wide range of wilderness and outdoor living skills. In today's busy world the skills that were essential for hundreds of years have disappeared. Bush Craft gives participants the chance to get back in tune with nature and their heritage. Our Bush craft sessions are run from the Jersey Accommodation and Activity Centre in the beautiful setting of St Martin. Some of the skills we focus on include, workshops with Harry throughout the year in foraging and wild cooking, navigation, shelter building, crafts and fire making.
Typical sessions last approximately 2 hours, where you will take in some of Jersey's common and less common plants during the wild foraging walk, before heading back to JAAC for wild crafts, foraged soup and Fire Making. Advanced sessions available with Harry (trained personally with Ray Mears). Children must be accompanied by a fee paying adult.
