Jane James Ceramics
There so much to see at Jane James Ceramics. The Grade 3 listed Merchants House built in 1818, is home to her large gift shop, art gallery, coffee shop and working pottery studio, where all her ceramics are handmade, glazed and fired. It overlooks the historic English Harbour in St Helier, only a few minutes walk from the bus station.
More Information
Jane James is an award winning ceramic artist who has become the largest pottery producer in the Channel Islands. Working from her studio overlooking English Harbour, Jane and her team of artists hand cut, press mould or slip cast the ceramics from earthenware clay. Once fired these are then mounted on driftwood collected from the beaches around Jersey to create unique pieces of coastal artwork.
You can watch Jane and her team make their ceramics and see a large range of her ceramics and other local arts and crafts in her gift shop.
Jane now exports her ceramics all over the world. She was commissioned to make a large wall shoal for the National Aquarium in Denmark.
Jane also has a gift shop in Gorey Harbour and an online shop.
