More Information
What is an Island-dwelling, geeky teen girl growing up in the late nineties to do about her sapphic stirrings, at a time before smartphones and broadband, apps and social media? How does she find connection? Who can she look to to feel seen? Where can she be safe?
In this emotive piece, Kaye explores the works of sapphic literature which made their mark and shaped her identity as a queer woman growing up in the Island; the themes shared between those pieces, and how sapphic voices have echoed through the centuries to inspire, connect with and embolden queer women to be who they are.
