A rare opportunity to tour Lé Bunkèr d’la Fraide Dgèrre, a Second World War German communications bunker transformed into a Cold War nuclear fallout communications centre.

Join us for a 1 hour tour of this unique “frozen in time” bunker. Our local guide who trained as part of the team of locals to monitor the arrival or potential arrival of radioactive fallout. You will view the control centre and communications hub where the team would work together to plot data on situations boards. See the technology of the time used in the meteorological room and the radio room where public safety information would have been broadcast to islanders and take a look at the living quarters of where the team would eat and sleep in the event of any potential nuclear emergency. Tickets cost £15 plus the Eventbrite booking fee.

Hidden in a street in the heart of St. Helier, this Jersey command centre was kept a secret from the public for years, as the world waited for news of nuclear war. This bunker was a communications centre, passing and receiving messages to and from other bunkers around the UK and Europe.
