Bonne Nuit Bay
Bonne Nuit, French for ‘good night’ because of its reputation as a quiet and peaceful mooring, is a small natural harbour nestled in the north coast and sheltered by the cliffs towering above it. At low tide, a small sandy beach appears below the pebbles, a perfect spot to build sandcastles, make some beach art or enjoy a picnic.

Fancy a Thai feast by the beach?
The tiny beach at Bonne Nuit isn’t just a great spot to splash in the shallows and for walks along the pier to watch the fishing boats – you can also pick up a Thai feast at Bonne Nuit Café, with fish caught in the bay. Order a takeaway and stretch out on the sand for an easy beach picnic while the kids play.

Local fishing boats still use this harbour and you will see fresh crabs and lobsters being landed by the locals. This is the perfect place to roll out a family picnic or sunbathe to the soothing sound of fishing boats clinking in their moorings. The bay is north facing so you will lose the sun as it sinks below tall cliffs in the late afternoon, but linger a while longer for a slow sunset on summer nights.

There is parking on the pier with a cobbled slipway providing access to the sandy and pebbly beach. There are steps to access the café.
