More Information
Jersey’s shallow marine habitats offer an opportunity to explore the beauty and diversity that lies beneath the waves through the creation of a snorkel trail. Located in the southwest corner of Jersey and nestled between stunning headlands, Portelet Bay boasts an element of isolation from the island, forming its own little oasis. A small islet located in the middle of the bay, Janvrin’s Tomb (or Île au Guerdain), is surrounded by water at high tide. At low tide, the islet becomes accessible via a soft sand bar. In addition to the self-guided aspect of the trail, Blue Marine is working with local groups Bouley Bay Dive Centre and the Société Jersiaise Marine Biology Section to deliver a Snorkel Portelet education package and citizen science.
