Enjoy the day, in a leisurely way.
When you’re on island time, there’s no need to rush. Why not take a step back in time and hire a retro car for a day like the housewives through Jersey Classic Hire? It’s a fun and laid-back way to take in the sights.
For a morning coffee, you can’t beat the seaside village of Gorey in the east of the island. Grab your brew from one of the many cafes dotted around the harbour and take a wander along the promenade as you soak up the morning rays.
Why have breakfast, when you can have brunch instead? Local hotspot The Potato Shack, based at Woodlands Farm, is a favourite for leisurely brunches. The menu is small but creative, serving up local fare (much of which is grown or reared at the farm) and changing seasonally.
Take time to unwind at The Botanic Gardens at Samarès Manor. Wander around the beautifully kept gardens and find a spot to sit with friends in the sunshine.
Lazy afternoons are well-spent over afternoon tea – particularly if taken at The Atlantic Hotel, with its gorgeous views out towards St. Ouen’s Bay. While away the afternoon sipping tea, snaffling scones and setting the world to rights with your best girlfriends.

Discover the island's history.
For those born and raised in Jersey, the island’s history holds an important place in their hearts. The Channel Islands were the only part of Britain to be occupied by German forces. The five-year occupation came to an end on 9 May 1945 – Liberation Day, an event that is still celebrated in Jersey with an annual Bank Holiday and a Liberation Day Parade. Many islanders remember their great grandparents telling her about this momentous occasion in Jersey history.
Visit Liberation Square, the spot where islanders gathered all those years ago to celebrate their freedom. Or visit the Jersey War Tunnels, where the stories of islanders living under German Rule are brought to life for the modern day.
