The Golden Cello
The first larger KCO Festival event. A candlelit 1 hr concert with a tribute to one of the greatest ever cellists: Jacqueline Du Pre (who descended from a Jersey family). The Kings Chamber Orchestra will feature our 3 cellists as soloists, including special guest Andrew Joyce (Principal New Zealand Symphony), Gerard Le Feuvre, and James Conway.

Festival Director and globetrotting Jersey cellist Gerard Le Feuvre invites his great friend Andrew Joyce all the way from New Zealand to perform a tribute to Jacqueline Du Pre, along with one of KCO's most talented younger cellists: James Conway.
The Kings Chamber Orchestra will perform works by Vivaldi (2 cello concerto), Offenbach, and Telemann (2 viola concerto), among others. Andrew is joined by Julia, his violist wife, who is also a principal in the New Zealand Symphony, and Gerard is joined by his violist daughter Katie, who like him won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. An outstanding highlight.
