A number of organisations have joined to form the Jersey Family History Forum to assist people with tracing their family history.

Channel Islands Family History Society
The Society has a large collection of indexes for the family historian. These cover censuses, records of baptisms, marriages and deaths and many other items. Currently these can be accessed at Jersey Archive. Society volunteers are on duty to help with research on these days.
Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month at the members' room of the Societe Jersiaise starting at 20:00. These take the form of a talk on a historical and/or genealogical topic. Visitors are welcome.
Jersey Archive
The home of Jersey's documented history, an excellent resource set in superb facilities. Perfect for anyone seeking detailed information. Since 1993 Jersey Archive has collected over 300,000 archival records from the States of Jersey, States Committees and Departments, the Royal Court, H.E. Lieutenant-Governor, Parishes, Churches, Businesses, Societies and individuals relating to the Island.
Opening Times: Tuesday - Thursday, 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00, last Thursday of the month until 19.00, monthly Saturday opening. See website for more details.
Jersey Library
Visitors to the Island wishing to borrow books can use the library by leaving a valid card from their home library or a cash deposit. Printer access. Internet access (free WiFi).
Disabled access: Automatic entrance doors and wide aisles. Lift to first floor. Disabled toilets.
Opening Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 09:30 - 17:30. Tuesday 09:30 - 19:30, Saturday 09:30 - 16:00.
Genealogy: The Jersey Library is open six days a week for you to do your own research. It has a wide collection of local books and newspapers. The earliest English language newspapers are from 1848; French language papers date from the previous century. Other resources include copies of census returns, rates lists, almanacs (including street directories).

Société Jersiaise
The Société Jersiaise (Jersey, Channel Islands) was founded in 1873 for the study of Jersey archaeology, history, natural history, the ancient language and the conservation of the environment.
The library has family trees and published family histories, indices to the PRO Census returns for 1841 and each decade to 1891 held on microfilm, Parish church records from 1540, electoral lists, and an index of civil registers from 1842 for births, marriages and deaths are held on microfiche.
Open only to members of the Société, from 10:00 - 14:00, Monday - Friday. Other access by prior written arrangement.
