Television

Jersey Tourism’s million pound TV campaign launched on Boxing Day 2011 and continues through to the end of April 2012. The start of the TV campaign was to coincide with the Christmas holidays, when viewing figures were at one of the highest and was seen by over seven million viewers. The campaign retains its positioning statement ‘the warmest place in the British Isles’ for the second year running, not only capitalising on the island’s warm climate, but also on its warmth of welcome and local people and of lasting holiday memories.

Nerina Pallot’s involvement in the TV commercial has increased for 2012 and you will see her on the beach at St Ouen. The voiceover is provided by Nerina and the instrumental version of ‘Butterfly’ is taken from her album, ‘Year of the Wolf’. Other islanders that feature in the commercial include Tour Guide Arthur Lamy, Oyster Farmer and Water Sports Enthusiast Chris Le Masurier, Artist Nicholas Romeril, and two local children are seen running through the grounds of Gorey Castle.

Our ambassadors were chosen not only for their love of the island, but also based on their professions and interests that tie in with key themes that Jersey Tourism promote throughout the year. The TV campaign invites viewers to meet the locals at Jersey.com, where each of our ambassadors feature in individual video documentaries about what the island means to them and what makes Jersey so special. The aim is to give a more in-depth, personal and knowledgeable view of the island, through the eyes of local people who were born and grew up in Jersey.

Our ambassadors also appear in our pureJersey magazine, with readers given a ‘behind the lens’ view. Other activity taking place to complement our TV advertising includes press and magazine advertising, a dedicated brochure response campaign, search engine optimisation and online adword sponsorship, emarketing and PR.

Jersey life has a way of gently drawing you in. With leafy green lanes named in French. With beaches so special we hide them twice a day. With waters warmed by the gulf stream currents and with more sunshine than anywhere else in the entire British Isles.
